Green Coffee and Weight Loss

May 31, 2012 in Beverages, Coffee, Stroke of Luck

During the First Baguio Blog Conference, my co-host teased me and said that I was not a credible food blogger because I didn’t have the body for it. Somehow, he thinks I should have weighed more. Smile with tongue out Understandable since he assumes I eat a lot, which I do, but I am blessed with a fast metabolism so I don’t gain weight that fast. I should say was blessed with a fast metabolism, because lately, it feels that my metabolism has slowed down a lot, the end result, me having a gut, a love handle, a muffin top. Okay, so mine isn’t this big yet, but still, it’s not a pretty sight. Smile with tongue out {photo from google.com search results}

It’s actually not a pretty sight, I feel self conscious and I find myself inhaling and holding my breath for photos just so my gut won’t come out in the photos. Smile with tongue out It’s hard to believe that I used to have a 24 inch waist line, and now, I am a 27 to 28, 29 if I just ate. Smile with tongue out

Kubong Sawali

May 27, 2012 in Family Style, Filipino Cuisine, Kubong Sawali, Restaurants, Reviews

After the First Baguio Blog Conference, the speakers and organizers headed back to Azalea Residences to freshen up a bit and then afterwards, we proceeded to Kubong Sawali for a sponsored dinner.

I have been to Kubong Sawali a few times in the past, in fact, this was where my high school friends and I gathered for our mini high school reunion and also where we took my brother in law and his son who visited the Philippines for the first time in 20 years. Smile

Filipino cuisine, particularly Ilocano cuisine, is served in Kubong Sawali, I think that their food have this certain homey kind of feel, which I love. Their dishes remind me of my grandma’s cooking, which I love. The ambiance is also very relaxed, it’s definitely a place you can hang out in with your friends or family. Smile

I was not able to sample all of the dishes that they served us that night, but the ones that I was able to sample were good. Smile

The First Baguio Blog Conference

May 27, 2012 in Events

Last weekend, Saturday, May 19, 2012, the First Baguio Blog Conference was held at the University of Baguio Square Hall. The aim of the conference was to inspire more people to express their passions through blogging, increase the online presence of Baguio Bloggers and Cordillera Bloggers, as well as gather bloggers from the region, and inform Baguio based businesses of how powerful blogging can be as an advertising medium.

So, you’re probably asking why this post is posted here and not on my personal blog, well the reason is because I was asked to be one of the speakers for the event and I happened to discuss food blogging. Smile If you’ve been a follower of my blogs, then you already know how I got into food blogging in the first place, but for those who are new readers (and hopefully new followers Smile with tongue out), you can read about how I started this food blog, here.
