Ocha Asian Cuisine

Ocha {โอชา} is a Thai word that means Yummy. Ocha, found along the food strip in Session Road offers the best of Asian Cuisine, ranging from Thai, Indonesian, Malaysian and Vietnamese cuisine. I am not fond of spicy food and I know for a fact that one of the highlights of these types of cuisines is that everything is spicy. Even their version of curry is just too hot for my palate to handle, however, I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun I’ve had during this specific food adventure, and although the food was spicy, they were able to tone down the spicy level of the food when I asked them to.:)

SumoSam

I love Japanese food! :x

SumoSam

So when we were invited by our blogger friends to join them for the Grand Opening of the SumoSam branch here in Baguio City, I did not hesitate and said yes right away. I have been waiting forever for this particular restaurant to open since I saw the tarpaulin in front of the building right beside Starbucks Technohub, that says “Opening Soon”.

On our first visit, we were told that they were still on the “Soft Opening” phase, so some of the items on the menu weren’t available then. I didn’t mind, because they had what I wanted. Haha.

It was a perfect Baguio summer night when we visited SumoSam for the first time, and we opted to sit outside because it was too perfect a night to stay indoors. I immediately fell in love with the place. I just love Japanese cuisine so much.

That night, I ordered the basics from the menu.

Canto @ Ketchup: The Food Community

June 6, 2012 in American Cuisine, Canto, Casual Dining, Food Adventures, Restaurants, Reviews, Where to Eat in Baguio?

When I talked about having the best ribs at Canto during my talk for The First Baguio Blog Conference, people thought I was only kidding and was referring to an actual “kanto”. I have only realized this when someone sent me a message telling me that she loved my talk and that she loved the part about the ribs at the kanto thing. LOL.Laughing out loud I should have mentioned that the kanto I was talking about was an actual restaurant called Canto, with a C. Open-mouthed smile LOL.Rolling on the floor laughing

For the benefit of my foreign readers, kanto is a Tagalog word which literally means street corner. Open-mouthed smile

I was not talking about finding the best ribs in an actual street corner, but there is an actual place called Canto which serves the best barbecued ribs I have ever tasted. And I mean EVER. It’s even better than MINE and I’ve been told I make mean barbecued ribs. Smile with tongue out

So anyway, let me introduce you to Canto. Smile
