Cucinino Pasta ETC.

September 30, 2012 in Cucinino Pasta ETC, Italian Cuisine, Kiosk, Restaurants, Reviews

It’s been a while since I last updated this blog, I was busy stuffing my face and eating out that I literally did not have enough time to write about it, so now I have so many places to tell you about, but let’s start with my experience at Cucinino Pasta ETC.

Next to Japanese cuisine, Italian is my favorite cuisine, I just love pasta, pizza and of course calzones! Yum! So when I had the chance to dine in Cucinino Pasta ETC, which is a fairly new Italian inspired kiosk in Porta Vaga, I didn’t pass on the chance to do so.

Cucinino Pasta ETC is owned and run by 20-something year old couple, TJ Tagasa and Celine Latonero. I felt so old standing next to these two very young and successful entrepreneurs.:P They’ve started this specific business back in 2009, and 3 years later, they’re still around, obviously people love the food that they serve.

Kubong Sawali

May 27, 2012 in Family Style, Filipino Cuisine, Kubong Sawali, Restaurants, Reviews

After the First Baguio Blog Conference, the speakers and organizers headed back to Azalea Residences to freshen up a bit and then afterwards, we proceeded to Kubong Sawali for a sponsored dinner.

I have been to Kubong Sawali a few times in the past, in fact, this was where my high school friends and I gathered for our mini high school reunion and also where we took my brother in law and his son who visited the Philippines for the first time in 20 years. Smile

Filipino cuisine, particularly Ilocano cuisine, is served in Kubong Sawali, I think that their food have this certain homey kind of feel, which I love. Their dishes remind me of my grandma’s cooking, which I love. The ambiance is also very relaxed, it’s definitely a place you can hang out in with your friends or family. Smile

I was not able to sample all of the dishes that they served us that night, but the ones that I was able to sample were good. Smile

Jim’s Retro Diner

May 9, 2012 in Casual Dining, Dining Out, Food Adventures, Jim's Retro Diner, Restaurants, Reviews

If there’s one diner in Baguio City who can compete with 50’s Diner and win, it would be Jim’s Retro Diner. Sure, 50’s Diner has been around since forever and they have basically stayed pretty much the same throughout the years, but Jim’s Retro Diner is quickly gaining more popularity and quickly winning the hearts of residents and tourists alike.

Being foodies that we are, B and I finally got to try out their food after hearing about them so much from our friends and relatives. So we decided to take a trip back to the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and paid Jim’s Retro Diner a visit.
